Envisioned as a sculptural object, Lita Albuquerque: Stellar Axis was designed to embody concepts from Albuquerque's artwork and to reflect the artist's use of color and material. Enclosed in a slipcase, the book features a custom ultramarine-blue finish, debossed with a gold foil-stamped star map and edged with gold gilding. The narrative focuses on Stellar Axis, a large artwork created in Antarctica featuring 99 ultramarine-blue spheres aligned to the 99 brightest stars. The horizon line in each image aligns to the center of the page. 224 pages, 12 x 11 3/4, 5-color.
